Did you know that Australia is home to more deadly critters than anywhere else on Earth? It’s true. But the country / continent also has given the world a fair share of good things too. Things like kangaroos, Foster’s — Australian for beer! — and of course, sweet, sweet Elle McPherson … sigh. Um, where were we? Oh right, Australia. The latest excellent export from the land down under is undoubtedly Xavier Rudd. This talented Aussie has quickly become a darling of the jam-pop set. And with his latest album, Dark Shades of Blue, he mines a darker, psychedelic terrain that could very well open the eyes and ears of a much wider audience. This Tuesday he stops by the Higher Ground Ballroom with singer-songwriter Jeremy Fisher.
