Though there are numerous options about town for rump-shakin’ Burlingtonians to get their booties on the dance floor, the Queen City has long lacked a legitimate upscale dance club. Until now. Under the watch of DJ Craig Mitchell, a new day will dawn this weekend as the internationally renowned turntablist unveils his latest endeavor: Lift. Born out of the remains of lower Church Street dancehall Second Floor, the new joint should provide a much-needed infusion of energy into the city’s club scene. And given Mitchell’s network of famous DJing pals, one should expect a marked up-tick in the level of talent making its way through the Green Mountains. Exhibit A: Sunday’s grand opening throwdown with legendary DJ ?uest Love of The Roots.
