Don’t let their black suits and bow ties fool you; the Two Man Gentlemen Band is far feistier than their throwback look suggests. Blending hot jazz with Western swing, the vaudevillian acoustic duo from Brooklyn gives voice to love songs, reefer romps, even a droll ode to chocolate milk. The band’s toe-tapping tunes evoke the high spirits of 1920s speakeasies and prove that, as Time Out New York writes, “making old-fashioned music needn’t be polite or predictable.” Bandmates Andy Bean and Fuller Condon mosey through Montpelier, Morrisville and West Glover this week, leaving a trail of ditties from their sixth and latest release, 2010’s ¡Dos Amigos, Una Fiesta!
