Seven Days Says:

The young pianist whose debut album of Bach's Goldberg Variations topped classical charts serves forth her signature piece.

Bach in the Spotlight

Pianist Simone Dinnerstein arrived late to the bright lights of the recital hall stage: At 33, she had never quite caught her big break. It was only when she jump-started her own career by releasing a solo album, an interpretation of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, that the rest of the world caught the drift: This was one seriously talented chick. With her painstakingly articulated trills, contemporary mind-set and thoughtful opening Aria, she brings “a level of coloration beyond the palette Bach knew,” said Allan Kozinn in a New York Times review. The Brooklyn native, now with a second CD, The Berlin Concert, under her belt, is still charming classical music lovers with her striking staccatos, tonal purity and overall distinctive voice. Don’t miss out when this virtuoso carts her hammers and strings into town.
