We’ve all had memorable home-cooked meals, but for Americans, Thanksgiving dinners — where family, food, tradition and reality collide — can be especially hard to forget. Some Thanksgivings inspire us to serve our forebears’ recipes to our children and grandchildren. Others inspire us to flee the kitchen and eat out on that Thursday in November.

A TENNESSEE TALE
I am continually dismayed by the suppression of art and attempts to limit its availability and accessibility. Art is the voice of the artist, the depiction of ideas, of simple beauties, harsh realities, personal beliefs, political statements and interpretations of those beliefs and statements. There's a patch of grass growing in the middle of Williston's Maple Tree Place, and the company that owns the shopping center is looking to turn that green into a community- enhancing environment. They're sponsoring a contest to generate doable ideas from landscape designers.
