Rachel Goodrich, The Jean Marie

Monday, June 22, 9PM at Club Metronome in Burlington. $8/10. 18+.

Miami Vice

When one thinks of Miami, indie music is hardly the first thing that comes to mind. Cuban conga and rumba? Sure. High-energy house and electronica? And how. But in recent years, this vibrant arts city has become a hot spot for cutting-edge indie rock. Case in point is eclectic “shake-a-billy” songwriter Rachel Goodrich, whose slyly whimsical debut Tinker Toys led the New York Times to recently dub her “the queen of the Miami indie rock scene.” This Monday, June 22, Goodrich rambles into Club Metronome, where she’ll be backed by “squiggle synth” sensations and fellow Miamians The Jean Marie. Bermuda shorts not recommended.
