Side Dishes: Farah's closes, plans move to Chittenden County
Readers craving Persian specialties from Farah’s Middle Eastern Food [1] will have to wait. Just a week after I named her koofteh among my favorite new restaurant dishes [2] of 2010, Farah Oberlender [3] closed her Johnson takeout joint.
Not to worry. Oberlender says the change was planned and allows her to pursue a new goal — opening a restaurant in the Burlington area. She’s seeking a home in Chittenden County that she can convert into a combination business and living space to give her more time to take care of her 4-year-old son — and 1-year-old restaurant.
