Last Friday, a bill that would allow farmers to sell up to 40 gallons of raw milk per day sailed through the Vermont House, with a vote of 96-40. Careful oversight by the state, to ensure safety, is part of the package. The Senate has not yet taken up the bill.
You may be craving a mug of freshly brewed O Positive [1], an ale flavored with elderberry, pomegranate and red raspberry, but trying to get one at Waterbury’s The Alchemist [2] right now would be, well, fruitless.
The popular pub is closed for renovations and will reopen on May 12. When it does, look for some new nosh on the “gastro-pub”-style menu.
