2008 was a very good year for Burlington-based indie-pop outfit Lendway. Their sparkling debut full-length, The Low Red End, made many a local critic’s year-end “best of” lists — including that of Seven Days music editor Dan Bolles. Not content to rest on its laurels, the group has been gigging steadily in 2009, all the while working on an eagerly anticipated follow-up EP. On Wednesday, March 18, Lendway grace the stage of the Higher Ground Showcase Lounge as the venue reintroduces its local music showcase, “Northern Exposure.” Also on the bill are local “sophisticated” punkers Abraham Backfur, Bristol pop-punk outfit Rush Angel and Johnson State’s The Unrehearsed.
