Rising from the ashes of underground alt-rock heroes Bedhead, indie quintet The New Year have arrived with their excellent self-titled third album. The disc has been hailed by publications far and wide (including this one) as a glorious return to the unfettered indie-rock aesthetic made famous by genre godfathers Pavement, Guided By Voices and Built to Spill. This Monday, October 13, the group rocks like it’s 1999 at Club Metronome, with local pop-rock outfit Lendway.
