A Grammy winner and recent inductee into the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, Prine is a perennial critical darling whose influence is apparent in the music of countless contemporary tunesmiths. Yet commercial success has largely eluded him throughout his career. This Saturday at the Flynn Theater’s MainStage, the folk icon shares the spotlight with Chris Knight — a noted Prine disciple — whose plaintively beautiful album The Trailer Tapes secured the songwriter a place alongside the finest Americana artists working today.
