But “if you do it well together,” David Greely told Rhode Island’s South County Independent a few months ago, “it’s more like one and one equals five.” Hear the explosive quality of his twin fiddling with fellow Louisiana musician Joel Savoy, and you’ll begin to suspect the GreelySavoyDuo is on the right side of that equation. With a repertoire of rare traditional Cajun music — reels, jigs and waltzes from as far back as the 1800s — the pair eschew the rowdy dancehall parties, choosing instead to play Bayou State tunes intended for intimate settings. Morrisville’s River Arts Center fits the bill nicely.
