So, you folks like the indie music, eh? Well, so does NBC News anchor Brian Williams. Really. Specifically, the buttoned-down TV personality appears to have a thing for 2009 Polaris Music Prize nominees Great Lake Swimmers, whom he recently interviewed on his surprisingly entertaining vlog, “BriTunes.” We gotta say, the man has good taste. GLS’ latest effort Lost Channels is an opus of elegant indie folk and may well represent their finest work to date. This Thursday, GLS appears at the Higher Ground Showcase Lounge with the Wooden Birds (ex- American Analog set) and striking up-and-comer Sharon Van Etten.
