The Vergennes Opera House offers one such place to experience the silver screen untarnished. This week, the venue relaunches an expanded version of its monthly Friday Night Flicks series after a year-and-a-half hiatus, waiving the usual $5 entrance fee for the Marx Brothers’ eyebrow-waggling class-clash comedy _A Night at the Opera_ (pictured). Hankering for a pre-talkie fix? Rutland-area residents can catch a one-time screening of _The Kid_ — Charlie Chaplin’s silent 1921 feature about an incorrigible tramp who raises a loyal street urchin — set to live music by local pianist Leslie Klami.
