Since Grand Union became Price Chopper, there is no one that makes decent fried chicken around here (yes, Grand Union made excellent fried chicken and damn good chicken wings as well).  I don't mind making it at home but the whole house smells greasy for 3 days after.....

I didn't realize Grand Union made great fried chicken. Now I'm mourning all the chances I lost on getting it!

I haven't had good fried chicken since I moved away from the midwest.  *sigh*

My top two for Vermont fried chicken (that means not the chicken crispers at Chili's, however awesome they are):

Buttermilk fried chicken at The Family Table — It's marinated for three days, for optimum juiciness, then double battered and fried.

Boneless wings at Bluebird Tavern — Most places, you order "boneless wings" and get tenders. These are actually juicy little wings, boned and breaded. Luscious
