Beef by breed

You see so many places that trumpet the fact that they serve Angus beef. Can you taste the difference? Obviously, something like Wagyu is going to be enormously difference, but I don't think I could tell a Belted Galloway from a Beefmaster. And yes, there is really such a thing as a Beefmaster. Beefmaker, too.

Different breeds have slightly different ways of moving around so some would build different muscles or store fat in different areas. I think the breed will have more to do with the texture and mouthfeel of the meat rather than flavor. You can tell the difference in flavor from region to region or farm to farm. The flavor comes directly from the animals diet. You would have to find a farm who raises two different breeds on the same pasture. I can't think of any that do that though.
