I know this is getting a little weird and obscure, but I was just thinking about the caché of Vermont water. At many upscale places I've eaten in Stowe, the server has offered a choice of bottled waters or "Stowe tap."

When I lived in Essex and had well water, a friend who lived in Montréal would come over and bottle herself some right from the faucet, because she preferred the taste and mouthfeel to those of commercial waters. What do you think of your water? Have you tried a tap in a particular town that you thought was especially good?

I have a well.  I like my well water best. Smiley

I can't stand water that tastes faintly of chlorine and I hate that in order to get rid of that, I have to put it in a container and let it stand for a while.  Actually pay for bottled water to be delivered to my office because of that (along with 11 other people in the office, we go into it together, comes out to around $2 a month per person).
