I'd love a buffet that is totally gluten free for my friends with celiac. Or at least a gluten free bakery.

Hi Dancinggirl, There's actually a celiac friendly bakery close by! West Meadow Farm Bakery in Essex has homemade, gluten-free pies, bagels, breads, donuts, etc.

DancingGirl, On the Rise Bakery in Richmond is also Gluten-Free-Friendly. One of the owners is gluten free and they always have some GF desserts that are great and even GF wood fired pizzas! -Jason

I agree with you about late night desserts, Alice. I'm always wishing places like Mirabelle's would stay open past 3!
And it would be really fun if some kind of tapas restaurant would open. I love ordering appetizers so I can try more dishes.

Did you get to try, um, Valencia? It was on the corner of pearl & winooski. They had some great dishes, served all night-well 10 or so. It's unfortunate that it couldn't hold on. Live music kept the place open for a while, and the guy managing it was awesome, but in the end b-town couldn't grasp the concept...

I loved Valencia. The filet remains burrowed deeply in my heart. I've never been able to fully enjoy Asiana House because I wish I were sitting at the sushi bar having some fried goat cheese instead.

Burlington is a vegetarian place... Burlington/Vermont needs Chef Bill Allen to open up a reincarnation of "O" restaurant. Hands down the best restaurant to ever grace the shores of lake Champlain...

I too, was devastated to see Sahara go. Now when I go to Montréal, I stop at a mall food court and bring home some shawarma and shish taouk to get my fix while in Vermont. Sad, sad, sad.

A good, California Mexican place, like the El Faro take-outs in the Bay area, or Pepe's in Sonoma County. None of these tofu-and-black-bean-healthy-for-you burritos. Gimme the stuff made with cheap cuts of meat and lard.

Here are my thoughts: Reasonably priced, locally baked bread (too many $4.00 + loaves) More sources for seafood, both retail and restaurants Bars with good pub food (wings/nachos/steamed clams etc.) More GERMAN BEER on tap (do you really need Bud Lite and Coors Lite ) A Dairy Bar serving homemade hard ice cream (of all things to not be in Vermont, this one truly baffles me) All night Greek Diners Dinosaur BBQ A source for really good fried chicken a steakhouse with PRIME BEEF

Yes, you can get vegetarian food at most places but I want a restaurant where everything is vegetarian because it is a vegetarian restaurant!!
