What do people think? Personally, oysters and chocolate-covered strawberries don't do anything for me. Cinnamon rolls and short ribs, sure. I have a feeling, however, that my choices are not universal.
Is it variable from person to person, or just hooey?

Might be that the WAY you have to eat some things makes people uhm, all hot.
