OKay, a little background:
I have been homebrewing for over 10 years.  I've worked in 2 different brew pubs.  I LOVE me some quality beer. I support and am totally proud of Vermont's microbrews.

But, after I get home from the farmers' market and clean out the van and wash all of our equipment, and put away all of the inventory and sit down for the first time, do you know what is truly the beer that I want to drink?

A tall boy of PBR, yes, you read it correctly, a 22 oz. can of Pabst Blue Ribbon.

I don't know why,  at that time, the way I am feeling, I just love it.

There, I've confessed.  I feel better.
I also think that everyone has some sort of beer/wine/drink/food confession.

What's yours?

(if yours is a beer confession, leave it here, if it is something else, i dare you to start a similar thread/topic in the proper section...)

I always have some MGD cans in the fridge, for beer battering emergencies.  One day, as I opened the fridge to reach for a fancy beer, my hand just kept going and grabbed a can.

In any other situation, I'd never pass up a Double IPA for an MGD, but that day...it was magical.

When it's not Otter Creek or growlers from any Vermont brewery: Miller lite, ice cold, out of a can (don't care for it bottled) poured into a small, jelly jar, rinse and repeat.  I sometimes have the urge, at higher-end grocery stores and coops to say to the clerk "No, you don't understand- this beer is really good!"

I have that same urge!
when i go to the co-op and buy all sorts of gourmet type food, a growler of something nice and local and then a six pack of 22 ounce PBR, i am slightly embarrassed, but only slightly! Mostly i want to tell people, 'look, it tastes good, is refreshing, don't think of it as finely crafted beer, think of it as slightly malted, less sweet 7up."

I'll take a "good" beer almost any time over an American macro.  The one exception is after hard physical exertion, such as a long bike ride or after mowing the lawn on a hot summer day.  Then the only thing I want is either Miller High Life or Budweiser in a bottle, preferably on ice.

My "light" beer craving isn't for PBR or Miller, but Yuengling lager, which is sadly not available in this state.  Ice cold.  Negra Modelo on a hot day?  Red Stripe?  Yes, please!
I hear that Brooklyn lager will soon be coming out in cans, and Harpoon will be canning some of their selections!

Magic Hat is losing a lot of sales by not offering Circus Boy in 12 packs.  I refuse to pay $9.00 for a 6 pack when a 12 pack is $12.99.  What's up with that ?!

PBR on draught and Labatt Blue Light canned can quench the thirst, but for a everyday flavorfest, somebody can bring Yuengling in as they are listed as selling in Vermont, but so far no takers, you need to go across the pond

Amtrak sells Yuenling in the cafe car, take a trip, drink some beer, snooze, watch a movie, go to NYC,(the Rutland connection is best) come back, have some more beer.  You're home without body scans, taking your shoes off or dui, what fun! Be sure to bring your own picnic, the beer is better than the "food".
