While reporting my story on fair food, three different vendors told me that their Michigans were "as good as Charlie's Red Hots." I later tried one, which I can only describe as ground beef and onions in red grease. Is that what Charlie's were like?

Anyway, after trying a bunch of them in Plattsburgh, I have a pretty good idea of how they should taste. I find the Coney at Maynard's to be exceptionally flavorful, but other than that, have been disappointed by Vermont Michigans. Any recommendations?

The michigans at Charlie's were so great. I had a good michigan @ Joe's a few weeks back, and avoid the Michigans at KKD.

Nowhere like Maynard's though.
