Suzanne and I rated all of the Burlington-area Vietnamese spots that existed at the time (since then Café Window and Asian Cuisine have opened up) back in November. Lately, Phuong's has been my go-to on late work nights. I love their pork and egg rolls over vermicelli and 3 Color Rice. Really, though, I hit almost all of them for that one dish that they do best. What are other people's favorites?

Since I first posted this topic, another Vietnamese spot has opened, Saigon Bistro on College Street in Burlington. And guess what? It's awesome! Chef Snow's pork may look like cha siu, but with none of the sweetness. Get it over vermicelli with ultra-fresh mint and cucumbers. I also adored the duck soup I tried last week. Fried garlic dominates the flavor along with tender chunks of duck which stay crisp until submerged. This place has become my constant craving.

Our favorite is Pho Dang, but we haven't tried Saigon Bistro yet. I grabbed one of their menus when walking by one evening and we're determined to go soon to try the desserts. They have black grass jelly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grass_jelly) and other unusual gelatinous Asian treats.

The quality of Burlington's Vietnamese restaurants still isn't quite there yet.  I've tried all of them and still am not impressed, none of them have rated above mediocre.

I gotta say, for price and how fast the food's cooked, Pho Dang is the place (at least between my friends and I). I have to put as honorable mention here M Saigon just for the fact its got Boba Tea.  We need more boba tea here.
