We haven't tried it yet, but we're planning to make Bloody Mary's with pickled ramp juice. I'll post the recipe once we've tried it!

My favorite summer drink is my homemade strawberry-basil syrup made into either a soda or a mixed drink with vodka. Mmm.

I love a fresh margarita!  Just fresh squeezed lime juice, Cointreau, Tradicional and shake.  No mix!

But I'm lazy.  So, some really good grapefruit juice, like Simply Grapefruit and Tradicional is my fall-back.

Good tequila is key.  Something fancy-pants like Patron is wasted when mixed with anything.

My personal fave is Jose Cuervo Tradicional.  Cuervo has a bad rap for being a cheap-o tequila, but Tradicional is by far the biggest bang for your buck!

My favorite summer drink is anything mojito, but I've been meaning to try what one of my favorite bloggers declared his "2009 Drink of Summer," the cucumber-infused Gordon's cup.

Check it out here: http://www.lottieanddoof.com/2009/05/the-2009-drink-of-summer-2/

Here's something untraditional and local:

1.5 oz. Sapling liqueur
1 oz. Vodka (Sunshine is great)
4 oz. Vanilla ice cream (local of course)
1 scoop of ice
Whip ingredients in blender until smooth.
Top with a dash of maple syrup.

This was sent to me by the Iron Lantern Restaurant in Castleton, VT.
I may be biased since I make Sapling.

Cheers
