My obsession with all things Burger King culture continues... I learned last week about the chain's latest wacky attempt at keeping things fresh:
Whopper Bar.
From the website, I gather that it's pretty much BK, but with dimmed lights and some extra-funny menu options. Photos show The King enjoying the spot (just in NYC, Memphis and two Florida locations, for now) with ladies in cocktail dresses, drink machines still in clear view.
Two menu items jumped out at me immediately. The Meat Beast is pretty much a Whopper, but with bacon, American cheese and
pepperoni. Even I think that sounds a little gross. Better still, there's the NY Pizza burger. Here's the menu description: "Four WHOPPER® patties, slices of pepperoni and mozzarella cheese with marinara and Tuscan sauce on a sesame seed bun." What it doesn't mention is that the patties are laid side-by-side and that it actually kind of looks like a pizza. It sounds so awful, so evil, and I want one.
