Seven Day Events: Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ: April 16, 2008
Before you even ask: We know the site is moving slowly. We're working on it. Please be patient with us as we tinker and tweak.
Q: What's going on with your music, movie, art and calendar listings?
A: We're changing the way we display events online. Readers told us that they wanted to see more than just a week's worth of events on our website. So we put everything that's going on into a "Stuff To Do" database. Now you can search for events by day, interest, region and venue.
Q: Have the listings in the newspaper changed, too?
A: Nope.
Q: How do I find out what's happening this Friday?
A: Click on the Friday button in the middle of your screen. If you're looking for an event that's happening two weeks from Friday, click on that date in the calendar on the left-hand side of the screen.
Q: When I click on Friday, I can only see three music listings, but the little number in parentheses says there are 45. What gives?
A: If you want to see all of the music listings, click on the word "music," or on the line below that says "click here for more listings."
Q: What happens when I click on an event?
A: You'll go to a page that contains all the information about the event — time, price, venue, contact info and a map.
Q: I'm an event organizer. How do I get my events listed in your calendar?
A: For the time being, you should submit your events for consideration using our traditional web forms. But instead of waiting until Wednesday to see your event appear online, it'll appear just as soon as we enter it. Right now that means 2-3 days. But we're working on a way to offer local event promoters the ability post events instantly.
Q: I found a bug in your fancy new system. What should I do?
A: Please let us know what you found! We're still tweaking the database, and we appreciate your feedback. Email us at web@sevendaysvt.com.
