Eric Krasno is one busy dude. A founding member of heralded funky bunch Soulive, the guitarist is in high demand, as evidenced by the A-list of artists with whom he’s collaborated. He’s equally at home performing with jazz legend Joshua Redman as he is with rappers 50 Cent and Talib Kweli, or even funk chanteuse Chaka Kahn. That speaks not only to Krasno’s otherworldly chops but to his extraordinary versatility. His latest project, Chapter 2, is an impossibly funkdafied experiment in soul, R&B and jazz, and features Lettuce drummer Adam Dietch, keyboardist and vocalist Nigel Hall and bassist Louis Cato. The band plays a special Jazz Fest pre-party this Thursday, May 28, at Club Metronome with local up-and-comers Bearquarium.
