In American jazz, the preeminent family name is undoubtedly Marsalis. The son of Ellis and brother of Wynton, Branford Marsalis is among the most respected artists working today, not merely in jazz but the entirety of modern music. The outspoken, three-time Grammy-winning saxophonist is a certifiable living legend as a performer, composer, bandleader and educator. This Friday, June 12, he appears with his world-renowned quartet on the Flynn MainStage as a headlining performer for the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. The Vermont All State Jazz Ensemble open.
