Whether under his given name or any number of alternate monikers — such as Palace, Palace Songs, Palace Brothers or, currently, Bonnie “Prince” Billy — Oldham is among the country’s most beloved songwriters. He also claims the best rock beard this side of Built to Spill. This Monday, the brilliantly understated tunesmith performs songs from his excellent new album Beware at the Higher Ground Ballroom.
